Before you start

  1. Needs: Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat with your work account, and Clipchamp turned on by your admin. Not sure what you have? Start here.
  2. Where: Copilot app, Create a video, Clipchamp.
  3. Access: Copilot only uses content you already have permission to open. Use only information your company allows in Copilot.

The steps

  1. Open Create in the Copilot app and choose Create a video.
  2. Paste the prompt and select Brand and color if available.
  3. Generate, then watch the preview and read the transcript.
  4. Use Transform, or Open in Clipchamp to replace footage with your own. Export.

Prompt: how-to

A 45-second how-to video: "How to [task] in 3 steps". Calm narration, one step per scene, simple on-screen captions for each step, end with "[where to learn more]".

What a good result looks like

Claims in the script are true. Footage is from Microsoft's stock library unless you swap in your own.

If a feature is missing

If Create a video is missing, ask your admin to turn on Clipchamp. You can also start in Clipchamp with Generate a Video.

Make it smarter

Keep a short "What it got wrong" note. Paste it above the prompt next time, like "Don't invent dates".
