You've seen ChatGPT canvas or Claude Artifacts turn an answer into an editable doc. Here's how in Copilot: select Edit in Pages on a response and you get a page you can edit and share.
A common situation (composite)
We brainstorm in chat.
Then someone copies it into an email and the thread forks.
I want one living draft.
What you get
- Data: a Copilot Chat response.
- Does: turns it into an editable, shareable page.
- Output: a page your team can edit together.
- How often: whenever an answer is worth keeping.
Before you start
- Needs: Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat. Not sure what you have? Start here.
- Where: Copilot Chat, Pages.
- Access: Copilot only uses content you already have permission to open. Use only information your company allows in Copilot.
The steps
- Ask Copilot for the draft you need, using the prompt below.
- Select Edit in Pages on the response.
- Edit the page or ask Copilot to update sections.
- Select Share and send the link.
Copy this prompt
Draft a one-page plan for [project or event]: goal, timeline by week, owners as [OWNER], risks, and open questions. Keep headings short so my team can edit each section.
(Prompt from stuckwithcopilot.com/guides/copilot-pages-shared-draft/)
Data tip: use this with your work Copilot, and leave out passwords, payment details and anything your company marks restricted.
What a good result looks like
Owners and dates are filled in by people, not left as Copilot guesses.
If a feature is missing
If you don't see Edit in Pages, copy the answer into a Word document.
Make it smarter
Keep a short "What it got wrong" note. Paste it above the prompt next time, like "Don't invent dates".
Not sure what to ask? Copy the quick note for your Copilot admin.
Sales scenarios to try
Pages works well for deal prep that more than one person touches.
- Discovery prep: put your research and questions on a Page so the whole account team adds to it before the call.
- RFP research: collect customer research in a Page, then use it when drafting answers.
Prompt
Build a discovery prep page for [customer]: what we know (with sources), what we need to find out, and five questions for the call. Leave a section for each teammate to add notes.
(Prompt from stuckwithcopilot.com/guides/copilot-pages-shared-draft/)
Make it better
Run this next, in the same chat.
Now update the page with these notes from my teammates: [paste]. Merge duplicates, keep who said what, and flag any notes that disagree.

Data tip: use this with your work Copilot, and leave out passwords, payment details and anything your company marks restricted.
