Prep answers to sales objections
Copilot Chat
Short answer: Paste your approved product facts and the objections you hear most into Copilot Chat. Ask for a short answer to each that only uses those facts, then ask it to play a skeptical buyer so you can practice. Check every answer against the facts before you use it.

You've seen reps role-play objections with ChatGPT or Claude. Here's how in Copilot: paste your facts into Copilot Chat and ask it to play the buyer. It works with pasted text, so the free work chat is enough.
A common situation (composite)
I know the product.
But when someone says "we already use something" I ramble.
I want two sentences I can say with a straight face.
What you get
- Data: approved product facts and a list of objections.
- Does: drafts short answers and runs a practice round.
- Output: an objection table and a role-play.
- How often: before a big call or each quarter.
Before you start
- Needs: Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat. Not sure what you have? Start here.
- Where: Copilot Chat.
- Access: Copilot only uses content you already have permission to open. Use only information your company allows in Copilot.
The steps
- Copy approved facts: pricing rules, features, proof points you're allowed to share.
- Paste them and the objections into Copilot Chat with the first prompt.
- Use the second prompt to practice. Answer out loud, then paste your reply.
- Cut any answer that uses a fact not in your list.
Copy this prompt
Prompt 1: answers
Here are my product facts:
[paste facts]
Here are the objections I hear:
[objection 1]
[objection 2]
[objection 3]
For each objection, give:
- What the buyer is really worried about
- A 2-sentence answer using ONLY the facts above
- One question to ask back
If no fact supports an answer, write NO FACT and don't make one up.

Prompt 2: practice
Now play a skeptical buyer at [type of company]. Raise one objection at a time. Wait for my answer, then tell me in one line what was weak and what to try instead.

Data tip: use this with your work Copilot, and leave out passwords, payment details and anything your company marks restricted.
What a good result looks like
Every answer traces to a fact you pasted. Nothing about competitors that you can't back up.
If a feature is missing
Keep the facts list in a Word file and paste it each time. Copilot Chat doesn't need any file access for this.
Make it smarter
Keep a short "What it got wrong" note. Paste it above the prompt next time, like "Don't invent dates".
Not sure what to ask? Copy the quick note for your Copilot admin.
Practice against a specific buyer
Generic objections are easy. The hard ones come from a specific person with a specific worry, like a technical leader who thinks you cost too much. Set up the role-play that way and the practice gets real.
- Name the role and worry: a CTO worried about cost, a CFO worried about payback, an ops lead worried about switching.
- Score the round: ask for a score at the end so you know what to fix.
- Pricing pushback: for discount and terms practice, use the pricing talk guide.
Prompt
Play the [CTO] at a [mid-size manufacturing] company. You like our product but you're worried about [total cost over three years]. Raise that worry in different ways for six turns, one message at a time, and wait for my answer each time.
When I type END, score me 1 to 5 on: understanding the worry, using facts, staying calm, and asking for a next step. Give one example from my answers for each score.

Make it better
Run this next, in the same chat.
Now give me the strongest two-sentence answer to the worry you raised most, using only the facts I pasted earlier. Then tell me the question I should have asked you but didn't.

Data tip: use this with your work Copilot, and leave out passwords, payment details and anything your company marks restricted.

Yes. Use the practice prompt above with more turns, and include discovery questions and the ask for a next step in what it scores.
